On the sidelines of the event that Synnex FPT received the Western Digital Top Growth Partner of the year 2021 award, we had an exclusive interview with Mr. Truong Ba Toan, Director of Western Digital VN.
Mr Toan said that in the coming years, we need to be more active in enhancing the importance of data storage and management when the trend of applying artificial intelligence, digitization and large-scale digital transformation accelerated growth of demand for data storage. To meet this, it is urgent to have a large enough storage device with quality security and reputation. A representative of Western Digital Vietnam also said that the past year was challenging and opened up many unimaginable development opportunities.
SYNNEX FPT: Could you tell us what Western Digital’s Top Growth Partner of the Year award means to the company and its distributors?
Mr. Truong Ba Toan, Director of Western Digital Vietnam: Every year, Western Digital will recognize and honor distributors & partners with outstanding growth rates. In which, Synnex FPT is a partner with good growth in Vietnam and we are very honored to present this award to you. We want to honor the efforts of the teams (sales, logistics, marketing…) that have developed products and brought our brand closer to customers, gaining the largest market share in the past year. Once again, congratulations to all of you who won the Top Growth Partner of the year 2021 award.
SYNNEX FPT: Could you please tell me the important factors that helped Synnex FPT achieve this prestigious award?
Mr. Truong Ba Toan, Director of Western Digital Vietnam: Covid-19 has created clear opportunities for the IoT industry in general and Western Digital in particular. We believe that, in any situation, there are risks, dangers and opportunities. Covid 19 became a leverage to help us grow and our results have grown beyond expectations. In 2021, Synnex FPT has done very well and you excellently become the top growth partner of the year as a proof. Every year, Synnex FPT always grows steadily at 2 digits, especially in 2021, you have helped Sandisk & WD increase ~50% YOY. You guys have made very impressive performances in market development and expansion of Western Digital’s ecosystem in Vietnam.
SYNNEX FPT: What do you think about the IT product distribution market in the past year and what opportunities await us in 2022?
Mr. Truong Ba Toan, Director of Western Digital Vietnam: With the principle of ‘We love data’, Western Digital realizes that the momentum in data storage development has been – is and will continue to be maintained. After the ‘hot spot’ 2021, we find that users still maintain the habit and sense of the need for data backup very well. Covid-19 has caused the ‘switch’ to preserve data to be turned on and so somewhere after 2021, the demand of the “consumer” customer base will decrease slightly, but the service provider shows signs of acceleration and therefore these two factors inadvertently balance each other. Besides, the trend of applying artificial intelligence, digitization and large-scale digital transformation drives the demand for data storage to increase exponentially. To meet this, it is urgent to have a large enough storage device with good security and reputation. In the coming time, we believe that the market will still develop well and there is no stopping point.
